Core Principle of Rubber Flexibility
1. Molecular Structure Characteristics of Rubber
The hose is manufactured from long-chain polymer molecules, such as polyisoprene for natural rubber or polybutadiene for synthetic rubber. These coiled molecular chains form a stable three-dimensional cross-linked network after vulcanization.
The cross-linked structure brings high elasticity. When external force applies, curled molecular chains extend and rotate to absorb energy. Once the external force disappears, cross-linking points pull molecular chains back to the original shape to restore its form.
We precisely control cross-link density to adjust flexibility. Lower cross-link density leaves larger activity space for molecular chains to achieve softer performance, while higher cross-link density increases rigidity.
2. Viscoelastic Behavior
Rubber belongs to typical viscoelastic material, combining the properties of viscous liquid (energy dissipation) and elastic solid (shape recovery). When bent, the hose can deform smoothly following external force and effectively avoid permanent plastic deformation and damage.
Structural Design for Flexible Bending & Simple Installation
1. Low Elastic Modulus of Base Material
Rubber features an elastic modulus of approximately 1–10 MPa, far lower than metal (steel: around 200 GPa) and rigid hard plastics (PVC: 2–4 GPa). It means larger deformation can be achieved under unit stress, and only small external force is required to bend the hose easily.
2. Flexible Design of Reinforcement Layer

Inner Tube: Smooth rubber liner guarantees smooth hot water flow and medium resistance.
Reinforcement Layer: Embedded polyester, nylon fiber or spiral steel wire. Flexible reinforcement structure improves pressure resistance without rigid constraint, allowing free bending. The spiral or braided reinforcement expands under pressure and compresses during bending, forming hinge-like mechanical response.
Outer Cover: Wear-resistant and anti-ageing rubber outer layer provides comprehensive protection against abrasion, ultraviolet rays and outdoor weathering.
